Peep toe shoes in winter?

I just bought a cute pair of black patent leather peep toe heels. How can I wear these in the winter? Tights or black stockings? (Obviously with sheer toe) Or what about baby fishnet? I want ideas for both casual and special occasions (indoor) please.

This year peep toe shoes are very popular and they are being modeled with all types of hosiery. Cable tights and peep toes were all the rage at several fashion shows. Even a nude small hole fishnet with a black seam was modeled but this may not be for you. If you wear stockings, the sheerer the better and be sure you paint your toe nails. A red nail color will look great with the black patent leather. Besides nude and black, gray can also be a color option. So much depends on the outfit and the weather that day.

I think the best way to wear them is with a pair of dark patterned tights. The black on black looks really cute :)


You can find some cheap ones at Ross or they're like 10$ at Nordstroms.
Reply:the Micro-Net fishnets are OK they look like lace or Thule, and can be quite elegant. Personally I prefer very sheer black stockings, so the skin color shows through. I think opaque tights would be a bad idea.
Reply:I think if you wear ultra sheer stockings with a clear toe they will work fine, but I still prefer pumps in the winter. It snows where I live too, and pumps just always seem dressier. Just stay away from heave stockings with Lycra in them , you want your skin to show through the veil of nylon. I usually prefer real stockings to pantyhose or tights because they are so much thinner, and transparent, when wearing open shoes.

Reply:I dont think you should wear fishnets. But I like the black stockings Idea. I wouldnt wear them when there's snow on the ground though...they could get ruined :-O
