Annoying Ebayers!!!?

why are some people so ******* petty? some bloke bought a second hand motherboard for £2 + 8 quid p%26amp;p off me and now says it doesnt work and wants a refund when i know full well it was working before i sent it. Another woman bought some baby shoes that had hardly been worn, there was a good photo of them and she paid 3.50 but wanted a refund because they were slightly different colours from where one had been in box and one had been on show, bearing in mind they would cost 30 quid in the shops!

the thing is if i dont refund, i get bad feedback, so i have wasted listing fee's and p%26amp;p cost.

doing my head in!!!

Annoying Ebayers!!!?
You have just become accustomed to fussy buyers wanting owt for nowt - next time list in additional information 'Listed honestly. Intended for quick sale. No returns..'

And how'd you know the guy ain't used your mother board, and is sending you his bust one??
Reply:yep that sucks....sell only sealed stuff i guess the customer is always right and thats just that,,,sorry
Reply:i know what you mean, i had to give somebody a refund because she was out when the postman tried to deliver the parcel, and took so long to go to the post office to collect it, it had gone to a warehouse in ireland, and because i didnt put my address somewhere inside the packet, it was my fault , and ebay backed her up on it, somebody else said my postage was to high even though i dont charge for wrapping materials, the stamp cost is what they pay, he wanted a refund on what the post office charged me, and gave me a negative feedback when i refused, it makes you want to buy something of theres just to get even dosnt it
Reply:Yep, i just spent £20 advertising a phone on there and it was bought by a fake account who obviously won't pay for it.So it cost me £20 to keep my phone !!And they can leave negative feedback !Maybe it would be a good idea to let you put money into your paypal account and only let you bid up to the amount you have in the account. Then paypal would automatically pay the ebayer when you've won.Would'nt stop the idiots that you've had though.
Reply:Your obviously not writing a good enough description and a few get out clauses within the text.

Go over the top with everything you list, give full description containing every little flaw, show many photographs and most of all be honest.

Then you need to put statements to cover your back, they need to be relative to the goods your selling but make them very clear and precise.

You can put something along the lines of 'this is a used item and is sold a seen, i have been 100% honest in the description and you buy knowing there is a nil returns item'.

If you say that up frount then they have no come back, if they give you bad feedback then you can use this as a comeback to Ebay.

If you'd done this with the shoes and stated no returns and they are slightly different colors then you wouldn't have the bad feedback.

There's a lesson to be learnt with electrical goods on ebay, if your not a dealer selling brand new then on the whole i would stay away, buying or selling.
Reply:in your auctions, put a notice that any questions should be asked before bidding , all sales are final - you don't have to offer refunds - make sure anything that has a serial number on it , you record that number so no one can pull a switch on you like it sounds like the motherboard guy is trying - chances are something else is wrong with his computer in addition to the motherboard or he doesn't know what he's doing and he broke it - what did he expect for 2 pounds - new motherborads cost $80-200 in the USA for current specs
Reply:Such fussy people should not buy off ebay, most stuff is imperfect, usually second hand and what do they expect to get for that price??? If they want something thats like new, go to the shop and buy it for the normal price. My dad has had this problem too. He sold a pair of shoes, size 9, advertised as size 9, you look inside them they say size 9, they fitted my dads size 9 feet but when the person got them they complained they didnt fit! There can sometimes be a slight variation in sizing and my dad allowed for this by saying they were a small size nine etc etc. They demanded a refund and even wanted to keep the shoes!!! So annoying.
Reply:thats the risk you take im afraid

i buy on e-bay and have had no problems
Reply:Yes, there is a lot of scamming going on in eBay. I sold a very expensive model car (1500 dlls) and packed really good. They guy sends mack pictures of the car that look like it has been broken in transit. I think he wanted the pars for his own model and did that so I would give him a discount, and only paid half. The he never even gave any feedback. I am sorry, look at their feedback and the people that they buy from. If you do not like it do not let them buy stuff.
Reply:I don't under why people get upset about the postage being high, I use it as part of the selling method, low starting bid, and add a bit on to the postage to catch peoples interest, its not as if the cost is hidden, its there for everyone to see.

as for the colour of the shoes , the colour could be anything on her screen depending on the settings,

If you sate no refunds then that should be that, if it genuinely does not work then I would offer a refund of the purchase but not the postage, then check it when i get it back
Reply:E-bay can be a pain, it can be great with alot of people who understand that stuff is second hand and they are getting it cheaper because it is not brand new, but am afraid there are those idiots that always want something for nothing. Mabe just get them to send them back then refund and re-sell them just to keep the peace.

Good luck and hopefully you won't come across anymore 'scrooges'
Reply:8 quid P%26amp;P for a motherboard?! Are you taking the p*ss?!
Reply:£8 Post and Packing That's expensive.

and listing fee has nothing to do with P+P.That's supposed to be part of your expense !
Reply:Sorry to hear that mate, but if its any help, ebay have now introduced a feedback scheme. if you dont give them feedback they cant give you. and visa versa. the motherboard guy did you wrap it in anti static? if so you can say it was tested by a sparky and all was fine. The shoe woman really not sure, i sell loads and the amount of stupid peeps is unbelievable. just offer them a refund but they will have to return the items, and you dont refund postage that should shut them up. good luck
Reply:some ppl are never satisfied..
Reply:Some people can be a right pain in the neck, but I agree that you should always specify that the goods are second hand and sold without warranty.
Reply:tell them to return the items pay back the £2 and£3.50 and write a note saying they will have to claim postage from the post office
Reply:I would stop selling stuff online then and do a yardsale :) friends and family perhaps too ^_^ ah for the prices you are selling and the trouble you are going through I really feel bad hope this helps ~

oh also when I had to refund my bootleg dvds because they were lame *** quality and I didnt know they were bootlegs any who I had to pay for the shipping all together wasted 50 dollars 25 back and forth ~ so they should at least have to pay for shipping it doesnt say anything in the thing that you have to pay for the shipping i dont know where this came from ._. unless thats your policy or something - eek!
Reply:You should be ashamed of trying to make money out of your old tat instead of simply dumping it. And if its not tat give it to charity!
