Was it a $700 crib?
$300 crib set?
$400 bassinet?
$900 stroller?
$40 size one Jordan crib shoes?
$150 Janie and Jack outfit?
I am just curious to see what ridiculously expensive things parents have bought their babies, and now see how ridiculous it actually was.
This should be interesting and fun ; )
What expensive must-have(s) have you bought for your baby that you now find ridiculous?
a $100 baby walked/push-behind that she never uses and hates ...OH and the $200 rocking craddle that she could only sleep in til she was 3 months old and then we had to buy a crib for her (and she hated when it rocked)
Reply:Ours isn't due for 5 weeks yet, but I do't think we really went "all out" on crazy expensive things. So far all that we have I can see as being "needed." A lot of it was bought for us, or given to us...the only things we bought are the $5 toy box from a yard sale, the hamper, diaper champ (cheap and second hand) and the dresser that we also got cheap. We bought tons of books, and some clothes (lots of hand-me-downs), and the two things I see us still needing is a lamp and a bookcase.
Reply:I can honestly say that I cant think of a single thing. We havent bought anything that wasnt needed or that was rediculously expensive for either of our kids that I can think of. we buy what we want or need and stick to a budget. we did finance a nice king size microfiber bed last Oct. for my husband and I it was 1200.00. Thats about the biggest "splurge" type thing weve ever done in the 6 yrs weve been together lol....I guess I need to go buy something!(j/k)
Reply:My brother in law baught my 1 month old nephew an electric guitar already i mean yeh maybe in a LONG time he might use it but what i dont understand is that my brother in law has about 5 of them lying around never been used and he is now buying a new one for his son???? it was about a 2000 dollar one too i have no idea where he got it from but its top of the line with huge amp and stuff..my sister still thinks he said it was for his son just so he could have it but yeh i dont see why any of them need it hahaha
Reply:The only thing I'm embarrassed to admit to now is shoes...lots of them in infant sizes and fairly expensive too. That was back when I was young with my first two and was sooo concerned about them being fashionable lol....this time around that money will go in the college account!
Reply:300 change table i never used it i had it all set up and didnt touch it at all all i used was my bed or the floor with a $3 blanket down so they were not getting cold i still have the change table
Reply:The changing table. We never used it. It made me nervous having her up that high off the ground when she was always squirming and doing it on the floor or bed just made more sense.
Reply:I have bought probably $1000 worth of newborn and 0-3 month clothing that she will probably never get to wear.
Reply:Although not real expensive, I thought the Diaper Genie was a complete waste of money.
Reply:OMG my husband still wants to kill me on this one a"hippy chick" $80.00 plus shipping %26amp; handleing (I never used it once felt very odd on and did not support like I thought)
Reply:$2000 crib, almost all of the clothes.,,
