How do you break a baby's grip without hurting him?

The one year old I babysit has the normal ironlike grip, but grabs ANYTHING within reach...from hair to clothes to who knows what else. Any ideas how to make him let go without hurting him...like maybe a pressure point or something like when you put their shoes on and gently squeeze their foot to keep them from balling up their toes...?

How do you break a baby's grip without hurting him?
Grab the baby's last two fingers(pinky and ring finger) and GENTLY pull them away, this will break a grown man's grip, and it will surely break your *iron baby's* grip. Good Luck.

P.S. The reason this method works is because the last two fingers are the weakest two fingers and you can break someone grip easily without hurting them. Try It.
Reply:I agree with everyone above and rest assured that none of the techniques are harmful or dangerous. They will not hurt the child unless unreasonable force or pressure is applied.

Try these techniques on yourself or a friend and you will see that they will result in the outcome that you desire.

Also, tickling won't hurt either. ;)
Reply:Put your hand over theirs, gently, like you're going to hold it normally, only it's on top of their iron grip and not receiving the grip already. They will reach for it, letting go of the object, temporarily occupied by the idea of what is touching their hand. That's what mine always did.
Reply:An easy way to loosen their grip is if their hand is in a fist, push down on their knuckles and push towards their body. Naturally they will collapse their fingers and let go. Good luck!
Reply:Softly rubbing the tops of their hands and they will open.. I do this when I cut finger nails.. it is a great way..
Reply:squeeze the sides of the hands. fists or not it'll open.
