check out babycenter.com they have links to several other pages that will help you out.

have fun!
Reply:try teaching her to clap, dance, give a flying kiss. Even if she can't dance standing up, it might be fun for her to move around to some music. Duplo bricks (the big versions of lego) are also colorful and nice for babies to play with, or at least let her watch you build things to interest her.
Reply:You're not supposed to teach a baby anything. She's there to teach you. So get busy learning!
Reply:LOL, I was that way with my first. I felt like nothing was getting through to him, then all of a sudden I knew he was learning. I started with body parts. I would repeatedly touch my own nose, then his nose, and say nose. And so on with eyes, ears, mouth, etc. He was so over it, that he would turn away as soon as I started sometimes, like "come on mom, not again". Then one day when I'd say the part, he would touch it on my face. Pretty soon, he was saying the words as well. It may seem like they're not paying attention, but they are learning.

Now, with my second I understand that they're learning whether you're trying to teach them or not. It's always so exciting to do so though, so feel free. Pretty much any type of play is a learning experience for them. So plenty of attention is good.
Reply:Teach her to use her imagination. Get a big empty cardboard box that a television or a refrigerator came in. Make a flap on one side for a door and maybe a flap or two that is higher to be a "window" so they can peek out at you. Kids love big empty boxes. You could just turn a big box on its side and kids love to go in and out of it or lay it on its side and make a tunnel. You could decorate it like a house with flowers or a fort with crayons with them. You could set up a tea party in there with her if the box is big enough or help her to "put her baby to bed" by covering the doll up in the house with a blanket. Most appliance stores would give you empty boxes. Actually kids that age love any size empty box. That's why when you get them a nice toy they play with the box more than the toy. So, you could just give them an empty cereal box or empty popcorn box, put one of their favorite toys in it and watch them "work" to get it out. It will give them something to do. Also, kids love to make and sit in "tents" out of kitchen chairs and blankets.

Teach her animal sounds as you say the animal names.
Reply:My 14 month old son loves playing with balls - we sit on the floor rolling them to each other, he chases them when they roll away and he races me to reach it first! He also has a couple of activities that involve slotting small balls in ( the Fisher Price roll around dinosaur is a huge favourite!) and simple shape sorters.

We play lots of peekaboo games, hide and seek etc which has him in fits of laughter and recently he has started to initiate the games himself.

Try lots of touchy feely books too - really exaggerate your voice making animal noises and sound effects to really grip her attention - you'll enjoy it as much as she will!
Reply:You ARE boring her. Stop trying to turn her into a "baby einstine" and allow to her learn and develop as babies do, by EXPIERENCING things. She certainly doesn't need a website, she needs to be able to run around and explore her world. Take her to the park, to a zoo, take her to a mall stroll around watching people.
Reply:At that age you teach her by talking to her and lead by example.

There are some good books at barnesandnoble.com
Reply:play with her, explore different things, such as her body - like the nose and mouth, etc. or if she likes getting int things, clear out a cupboard in your kitchen (i know this can be hard) and put toy pots and pans (or old ones you don't use) and let her have "her cupboard" that she can get into and make music and all that. This really worked with my daughter. at one year old, she's a sponge. She'll pick up everything, even if it doesn't seem like it.

Have fun with her.
Reply:I think they perceive more than they are given credit for. When you show her something and say a word, she will eventually associate it with the word. I don't like TV as a babysitter, but there are some excellent shows that teach basic words and colors, etc. If you allow her to be present for a show like that, she will learn many new things through time.
